Have you ever just taken a step back and thought about how there are NEVER enough hours in a day? Sometimes we have so much on our plate and not enough time to do everything. I definitely get it … And if you have kids, a job, or are in school, I think you get it too.

Well I am happy to say, that I have some very helpful ways to bring this endless drought of time to an END!

In today's article, I am going to give you 10 amazing hacks that can help you save time in your everyday life. These tips can give you a major feeling of reclaiming your life, by allowing you to do things more efficiently while consuming less time.

10 hacks to help YOU save time!

Here are 10 Hacks that YOU can use to save time!

Hack #1 - Complete One Task at a Time

Multitasking can limit a major percentage of your productivity levels. When you are focusing on multiple things at once, it may seem like you are knocking out multiple things at once, but are actually frantically switching between multiple tasks, causing you to lose time with each switch. Multitasking also creates a higher risk of making errors that you will have to go back and correct. Throughout the day this can cause you to take longer to complete your tasks and ultimately take away from your overall time. It is more convenient to plan your day and organize specific blocks of time to work on each task. This will help you to get things done more efficiently and in better timing.

Hack #2 - Create a Distraction Free Area

Sometimes it can be helpful to create an area where you can count on being distraction free. This can include turning your phone on “do not disturb” for an hour or closing your office door so that you can put full focus on some of the tasks at hand. Sometimes when we try to work in a crowded environment, there can be a lot of distraction to dilute your focus, so try to create a distraction free zone when you have a lot of work that needs to be done.

Hack #3 - Keep Better Track of Your Time

Keeping track of your time can actually be very helpful when you are looking for ways to save time. If you just wake up everyday and jump on things sporadically throughout the day, you could be losing a lot of time due to not keeping track of things or how much time you are spending on each task. When you begin to monitor your time, you will begin to notice areas in your day where you can be more efficient. For example I am very guilty of playing games while I am “working on a project”. I may think that I am making good progress every time I pause the game, but in reality after 4 hours has passed, I have played a lot of games and only completed 10% of my project! BUT… If I put all my focus on getting the project done first, then I will complete the project in a much shorter time and also still have time to play some games. If it can work for me, it can work for you! LETS BUCKLE DOWN AND START KEEPING TRACK OF OUR TIME!

Hack #4 - Make Use of Long Waits

So be honest, have you ever taken your car to the shop and had to wait 2-3 hours for service? And in order to pass the time, you just want movies on your phone, play games, or browse social media? THIS is considered a long wait where we could be wasting a lot of valuable time. Instead of catching up on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, we could be completing some of our smaller tasks that we still need to do. This could be making your grocery list, working on your next blog posts, or re-writing your bill & budget for next month. Use your ‘Long Waits’ to tackle these types of tasks so that you can knock a couple of things off of your plate. Then once you finally get your car back, you actually have time to stop by that store you like to smell those amazing scented candles that you love!

Hack #5 - Learn From Others

Learning by experiencing is always one of my favorite forms of learning, but it can also be very helpful to learn from others. Look at the success and failures of someone you know and see what you can be doing differently when it comes to accomplishing your day to day tasks. If you know your bestfriend gets up early and does all of the hard chores as soon as they wake up, and typically gets to relax more in the afternoon caz they got most of their stuff done, THEN TRY IT OUT YOURSELF! Copying what someone else is doing successfully, could be the key in you providing the same luxuries to yourself. Now guess what? All of your chores for the day are done by 2, and you can watch ‘Too Hot To Handle’ until it's time for bed. SOUNDS GREAT TO ME! Let’s do our best to learn from others when we can.

Hack #6 - Hire Someone to Help

If you are anything like me, sometimes you like to complete every task on your own right? This is because by default we want things to be done as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Although there is nothing wrong with overseeing the completion of duties yourself, it may actually be helpful to consider HIRING SOMEONE that you can delegate certain tasks to. Hiring someone to assist in the completion of some of your most important tasks can help you save valuable time and enormous energy. In recent reports, statistics show that outsourcing work or responsibilities can give you a greater overall life satisfaction. With more time, more energy, and more rest, this will allow you to potentially get EVEN MORE work done in the long run!

Hack #7 - Invest in Helpful Tools

When you have a ton of work that needs to be done, sometimes investing into helpful tools can increase your productivity. Think about digging a hole without a shovel or completing a 10 page essay without a laptop, having the proper tools can help you cut back on time and help get the job done faster. So with that being said, LETS INVEST INTO SOME TOOLS!

Hack #8 - Finish The “Almost Done” Tasks

I have a friend that is FAMOUS for starting another task before the current one is complete. Sometimes they may even be almost complete with a task, and they put a pause on it, start something else, and 5 hours later, they come back and finish the 1st task. I have got a secret to tell you … doing what my friend does, wastes A LOT of time. Think about it, whenever you come back to a task before it is complete, you always have to take time to find where you left off, get your tools together and finish working. And also, switching between tasks repeatedly also factors into the loss of valuable time. If you take the extra time to finish your “Almost Done’ task in full before starting something new, you will save a good bit of time and increase productivity.

Hack #9 - Avoid The Unnecessary

When you are in the zone and knocking down the important tasks on your list, it can be helpful to try avoiding anything unnecessary in your daily routine. Taking part in unnecessary tasks can cause a major setback from tending to your most important responsibilities. For example if you have a meeting or a phone call that doesn’t require your commitment, consider opting out in order to give more time and focus to your important responsibilities. Avoid taking part in the unnecessary in order to execute the necessary!

Hack #10 - Don’t Be Afraid to Say No

We have all been there … sometimes your friends want you to come out and have a good time or maybe your work colleague needs some help with one of their projects. If you know you have a long list of items that need your attention, DON’T BE AFRAID TO SAY NO! Saying no may seem like a bad thing, but it is completely okay to think of yourself and your responsibilities first. This is the only way to ensure personal time to complete your tasks and your goals. It’s important to remember that saying no sometimes means telling yourself Yes!

In Conclusion

So as you can see, we have some options that we can use to aid and assist in our journey through life. We don't have to drown in the stresses of never having enough time to tackle our dreams. Being able to accomplish our goals is a very important aspect of our lives. If we use the hacks listed above, we will begin to see how much extra time we have left in every single day.

So give these hacks a try! Implement them in your daily life, and if they prove to be helpful to you, be sure to share it with your friends and family. Not only is it good to get ourselves on track, but its good to help others get when we can. We are ALWAYS stronger when we work together!
